What #DisneySide @Home Celebration is complete without a photo booth and props? My husband and son did an awesome job creating our collapsible photo booth frame while I set out to make the backdrop and props.
The Backdrop:
I purchased the backdrop fabric from Hobby Lobby. The fabric is 45" wide / 7' long and red with white polka dots. It was up against a wall and probably would have been fine, but the perfectionist that my husband is, put a white sheet behind it and it was perfect.
The props took some time, but were SO MUCH FUN to make! After I created each one, I glued and taped (there's that perfectionism again) 12" bamboo skewers,
point side up, to the back of each prop. Below I have listed what you will need for each prop and the printable to go with it. You can print right onto your paper or use what you have printed as a pattern. I printed on thick paper and used them as patterns since I was creating from scratch.
Mickey and Minnie Ears:
Black Cardstock
Red Cardstock
Glue Dots or Tape Runner
Cricut Expression Machine (optional)
Disney Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge (optional)
I used my Cricut Expression with the Disney Mickey Font cartridge for the Minnie and Mickey ears. I set the ears to cut at 8.5" and the bow at 4.5" or 5".
Mickey Ice Cream :
Dark Brown Cardstock
White Cardstock
Glue Dots or Tape Runner
Large Craft Stick
Print the pattern and cut out the 2 different colors. Trace the 2 pieces onto the matching colors of cardstock, cut out and glue together. Add a large craft stick to the back of this one instead of a skewer. *Note* I only made one "front" to the ice cream. Whenever the kids grabbed it to hold it up, they had the "good" side facing them. I am going to go back and make another to glue to the back so it works either way.
Mickey Hands: Pointing and Thumbs Up
White Cardstock
Black Marker
Here you can either print directly onto white cardstock or print and use as a pattern. There is a .pdf for both options. If you print and use as a pattern, you will need to draw in the black on Mickey's hands.
Donald Duck:
Yellow Cardstock
Orange Cardstock
Pink Cardstock
Glue Dots or Tape Runner
Black Marker
Print the pattern and cut out the 3 different colors. Trace the 3 different pieces onto the matching colors of cardstock. Cut, glue, and draw in the black with a Sharpie.
Disney Sign:
White Cardstock
Disney Stickers (any)
Print pattern onto white cardstock and cut out. Add your choice of Disney stickers. I used these Bulk Buy: Sticko Disney Embroidered Sticker Disney Title DEM-M004 (3-Pack)
But purchased at Hobby Lobby where they were cheaper.
#DisneySide Sign:
Black Cardstock
Cricut Machine (optional) ADD LINK
Disney Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge (optional) ADD LINK
Silver Paint Pen, White Pencil, or Stickers if not using a Cricut
Print the pattern, trace onto black cardstock and cut out. I used my Cricut machine and Disney Mickey Font to cut out the "#DisneySide" onto adhesive vinyl I had from our Personalized Disney Cups craft ADD LINK. White cardstock can be used for the words, but I had a hard time getting them to cut and peel off correctly. You can write on the sign with a silver paint pen, a white pencil, or decorate with stickers if you do not have a Cricut machine.
So there you have it! Create, have fun, and come back and share some pictures from the #DisneySide photo booth YOU MADE!
